My dad and I started north of the Benedict Bridge, then headed south of it later in the day. We have two 600 ft lines, so it was easier to pick up and try different spots. We tried shallow in the mud, we tried deep, we tried deeper. Picked up the line about 7 times. We were on the water from 5-11:30 and left with just 3/4 of a bushel. The crabs we got were nice and heavy for the most part, we also saw a lot of doublers and 1-2 inchers (good sign for the future). All in all it was a meal, but we sure had to work for em.

OK, my point was that he may not be going deep enough. Grin But no sense in getting personal. Grin

On a serious note, as of a week ago the good crabs have gone to deeper water, as in 10' - 15'. laugh

It was about 10", sorry 10', I always get those mixed up.  Grin Roll Eyes

We caught the most in 9 feet, just up from a drop off going down to about 12-15. They must be trying to get out of this heat.
