JQ,

Just an FYI......if you have any Flounder on you, you better have the entire carcass also that measures atleast 18".  I wouldnt have 1/2 of it or just the head or just the tail part, etc.

Not from the coast, but I do remember hearing as a kid down the shore on vacation, of guys putting whole flounder carcasses in their traps. Back then you were allowed to keep smaller ones and I remember them doing quite well. But, as was stated earlier, in this day and age it could be difficult.

If it takes a chicken and a half a day and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long would it take for a squirrel with a wodden leg to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle? Think about it, or not.

Good advice to have the intact carcass to prove it was a legal fish (minus the fillets which should be in your belly) in case you get stopped by Fish and Game.

I use flounder carcass in my pots and it does work.

I used flounder once and it did not work as well as the chicken necks. Best fish I have ever used is blue fish.

Used a flounder carcass today. Used the head basically, caught a couple keepers and a couple throwbacks. They seemed to get attacked by fish easy and didn't work as well as chicken, but the crabbing was slow in general today and the bait was free since it was going in the trash otherwise.
