Took my kids ( 5 & 3) out for their first crabbing event. Rented out of the oceanic marina, was on the water by 830. Just like the rest of the reports, had to work real hard for a total of 18 all large, and heavy males. Bunker was the bait of choice, and of course landlines out produced the traps. Had to changed spots more than 10 times. No females, only a few spider crabs. Left around 2, kids were tired. They did great, and loved it. So nice to pass the tradition on to another generation

18 isn't a bad meal! For the kids it was a great time whether they caught 18 or 80.

I will be taking my 8 year old son out tomorrow along with my brother, I hope it picks up soon-like maybe in the next 9 hours! Smiley

Nice job and GREAT to hear you getting the kids on the water for some quality time.  Memories of being out there when my kicds were that age, priceless......Enjoy !!

excellent report- something about kids and crabs, i got the itch when i was
4 years old and 40+ years later i never lost it. take pics and frame a couple
sounds like crabbing will be part of their heritage, way to go
