Stoneys at Broomes Island

We went there to eat last Thursday.  Food took forever to arrive and was lukewarm when it finally showed up.  The waitress offered to microwave the crabcakes and shrimp.  We were too hungry to wait, so we did stay, eat and pay.  Cole slaw was cabbage dressed with plain mayonnaise.  Yuuch.
We had a party of five but the waitress "accidentally" added 18% gratuity to the check.  I am glad I always double check.  The manager did not care about the check, the food or the wait.  This outing was a major disappointment, but might just have been an off day.  I had not been to the Broomes Island location since the hurricane.  Was my experience typical?  Has the restaurant declined in quality that far?  Has anyone else had similar experiences?  I truely loved the Stoneys crabcake (I've taken folks from all over the country and even some foriegn friends for the "best crabcake on earth").  Now I don't think I will ever set foot in there again.  Encourage me if possible.  Should I risk going back some day or is this an example of "fool me once....?"

i live about 15 miles from brooms island and havent been there in almost 16 years.
