We originally wanted to go to MD but the heat and distance helped to change our minds.
My son and I Hit the water at 7 am with 27 traps. Set our personal size limit to MD min. of 5 1/4 and ended at 10:30 with just under a  bu. (55 total) They were monsters for NJ. More than half were over 5 3/4 to 6 1/2. Could have easily had  over a bu and half if we kept all legal but we have had enough  of picking 4 1/2 to 5   inch crabs this year. they are ok in April  and may when that is what is available early in the season but knowing there are large ones in the barnegat, we didn't want any of the small ones. We then went over to a heavily clammed area and still managed 70 clams in a little over an hour. Was on the road home by 1. Nice easy day.
