Frizz, you may want to Bmail another forum member (RanC) or (KajunCrabber), he would probably have the best info on your area, good luck!

i wouldn't eat anything out of that lake or pontchartrain. i would head southwest down by houma and the crabs should be fine there.

Frizzle,

According to the news they are pumping the mucky sewage straight into Lake Pontchartrain. This means you should not eat nothing in that area including Lake Maurapas and even toward the mouth of the Mississippi River. I don't see how any thing can live in the sewaged waters.
Frizz, if you come straight south from the Baton Rouge area you will come to the city of Houma. Keep coming south and there are several Bayous you can follow down to the coast line. I would say from Grand Island to the west is all good crabbing right now. Don't be afraid to go more to the west, because the crabbing is good all along the coast right now. All these bayous have boat launches along the way. I hope this can help you and if you have any other questions, Ask.  Wink Grin Grin Grin
