We ignored the weather report and took my 20 Moose traps (nice even number again) with chicken necks for some work downriver. My brother-in-law and his 2 grandsons worked the traps from 10 AM til 1:30 PM on incoming tide, in 85f water. Our take was 67 keepers and about twice as many shorts. As we washed off the traps one of the crew tested his crab handling skills on the nastiest jimmie this side of SP. . We heard him yelliing and thought he was over-acting, then realized affter half a minute that nasty little critter (the crab) still had his forefinger in a. ...uh...crabhug. Crew is now in stablecondition. Pics to follow.

No real big ones but lots of heavy-clawed jimmies and we only saw a few females. Most confy day of the year on the water...just right! I am having some software issues with this new 'puter but will post the pics soon.....

Why is the kid crying in the last picture? Something about getting his "crabbing license" maybe?
