Crabbing community in CT lost one of our own. 51 year old man falls into CT River and drowns after slipping from his boat while checking crab traps. RIP

Sounds like he was grabbing from shore not a boat. In any case our condolences go out to his family.

God bless him and his family in this difficult time. And if you can't swim. Please wear a life jacket. Pop's was a CT state cop who used to run a boat part time back in the day. He told me about pulling a few people out of the water that should of had em on. MAKO

I crab that area all summer. Hard to see how anyone could drown from shore as the entire cove even at high tide doesn't get much deeper than 4-5 feet and there is little water movement. Still very sad to see.

Whitney Houston drown in a bathtub - she could have been considered incapacitated at the time by her habits - BUT in such conditions a quart of water can do the trick.

Hey - even Michael Phelps can't swim if he's unconscious!
While you may feel a little silly wearing a vest when no one else is, at least you'll be in better shape if everything goes from sugar to [shiz], which it can do in a heartbeat.
My condolences to the family, at least they can be heartened by the fact that he died doing something he loved.

I can only stress on so many things in one day - looks like you're not making the list. Tomorrow isn't looking so hot, either.
