tillers are FAR mor easier to operate and turn while running solo...jmho   just ran a sea-nymph side console steer thursday and ill never have anything but a tiller steer for crabbing !!!

I have had 2 different tiller motors/boats and after I set this boat up the way I like it, I would never go back to a tiller.  Its all in how you set it up and get used to.  I would never be able to run this boat if the "center" console was truly centered but with it off to the side, its a piece of cake.

Rapp the way Crabbyd said to put line in is dead on.  Also how FP mentioned the tension screw on the steering is also.  It is really not that difficult but it will take you a few times. A SNOOP line will make it easier also just by being easier to dip the crabs. Grin  I run a tiller motor with a swivel seat right back by the motor.  The seat is on a 12 inch pedestal which also helps by keeping me elevated to see and dip the cwabs.  Next time we are down the wye at the sametime I will give you a free lesson.lol

It has a 25 hp tiller.I'm gonna keep the rails to bungee traps to.I'm thinking of doing traps and line when I'm solo.I like the width of the boat and the space. If's easy to tow also,My other skiff must be heavier,it's harder to tow
