Crabbed out of Red Bank Marina with my son this morning with a rented boat with motor.  Got out about 8 a.m. at nearly dead low tide.  Crabbed the incoming tide until about 12:30 on both sides of the train bridge.  Had to move about 5 times and work hard to get two dozen keepers but the size of about 6 of them made it worth it at nearly 7 inches.  Lots of small ones on our handlines that we didn't even bother to scoop up.  Probably about 8 to 1 so they chewed up the bait pretty good.  Used chicken drumsticks and some bunker.  All droplines since the cages aren't really useful on an anchored boat.  They are there but not in the numbers like the past two years although, as people have posted, the big ones are pretty big.  The deckhand at the dock told me that most people come in with anywhere between a dozen and 3 dozen right now from the rented boats so things could be better.  Anyway, it was a very nice day on the water.  I will try to post pics I took with camera phone if I can figure out how to do it.

Good to see they are still being caught.  Got a little sick of crab meat, but that's wearing off and might hit it again in another week.

Nice report... Can u tell me how much the boat was with the motor out of Red Bank marina?  I know the rowboats are 55...I am assuming the motorized boats are a lot more?

Mutzy, I was just their again today for the second time this week.  It was 100 for a motor and 55 to row.  Unless you are young and strong, rowing is tough if you are going against the tide.  By the way, I crabbed the outgoing tide this morning with 3 other guys and got 32 all on drop lines with chicken as bait.  Lots of small ones that we didn't,t even scoop.
