Unbelievable night on the water! Gotta love the full moon extra low tide opens up so much more fishable territory that's normally too deep.. Low tide was 5:11 am got on the water around 3:10 and immediately got into the crab. Water was smooth as glass and although it was a little murky had no problem spotting the crab.. Worked my area for about 90 minutes when a ramdon shout of "how many you got?" scared the [curd] out me and i almost went for a swim. He was on the yacht club docks working the pylons and send was trying to get enough to make a sauce for his visiting mother and only had 3 thus far... I motored over to the dock stretched my legs and shot the s#%t for a few minute while he he checked out my crab rig. Seeing how every good crabber loves his mother i gave him 10 or 12 good crab for his sauce. Went back at it for about twenty minutes when daylight started to break and i realized i was being tailed by a bunch of swan feeding on everything my trolling motor was ripping and stirring up. They stuck with me while i all the way to the ramp. Off the water at 6am when the sun started to rise. Ended up with 46 jimmies not counting the 10 or so i gave away.. By far the most enjoyable night this season. Would of been better with a copilot but got a new system for the solo missions that's working quite well but company is always welcome.

Just curious as to the technique regarding night crabbing. Do you just go out on a boat with a light and net them as thew swim? Or is their more to it. Thanks in advance |

Thanks for the report and great pictures!
You have had them in New Haven for about three weeks.
I'm still waiting for them at Norwalk!
There are a few around but not enough to make it worth the effort!
