WENT OUT this morning, had to come in at 11a, because of storm, overcharged for the boat, had four adults, they made me get a 5 person boat, made no sense then, makes less sense now, they should have offered some money back, nothing, not a sniff, that will be my first and last time there, i will go back to beaver dam,, the motor on the boat is not worth the extra 50 dollars

Sorry you were disappointed - hope you took some crabs home. Re the 4 person vs 5 person skiff - there is a weight capacity. I had a "5 person capacity fiberglass boat, but the weight capacity was 525 lbs. Hard to find 4 adults that have a combined weight + gear that is under 525.

DCBR has a pretty good reputation out there. Not sure what was disappointing. The boat for four or five people seems like a small detail and as Di said, was probably a decision made based on the weight capacity of thre boat.
$50 for the motor rental wasn't worth it? Did the motor not run?

I usually am pleased with the service at DCBR aside from some of his kids being a little lazy helping us old geezers with our gear, than I get lazy with my tip I did not think there was $50.00 difference with Beaver Dam whose 5 pass is &60.00 DCBR $80.00 well worth the freedom to roam Just my opinion

Just what are the basic costs? boat towed or with motor at each? With motor are you limited to how far you can go? Can you rent at DC and crab Kings Pond(example)..I understand the person difference, but how much higher are the 4/5 man?

I have been there over a dozen times since last year using the ramp w my own boat and have a pretty good expirience w stumpy but have had expiriences w a couple of the kids being lazy and innatentive when we asked them for some things but overall a pretty good expirience there. It does get a little hectic there when its crowded and they seem pretty dillgent when it comes to safety issues so maybe that is why they opted to make you get the larger boat.

Sounds like part of the disappointment was that the rain cut the day short & a partial refund was not offered. I am not aware of any boat rental place that issues refunds for weather issues. Probably a good idea to check the weather forecast before renting a boat!
