If you have a Rec license you can run 30 traps and 1200 ft of line - if not you need to stay with 10 traps at the Wye.
You can go online and get a Rec License for about 11 or 12 bucks here. Print it out on your printer and you are ready to go.

He said single boater, so its 30 traps and up to 600' trotline, not 1200'. Two or more boaters can have up to 1200' trotline and 30 traps.
From COMAR: (1) An individual may not use or possess on board a vessel a trotline or trotlines with a baited portion more than 600 feet in length to catch or attempt to catch crabs for recreational purposes; or

If he is going to be crabbing Sea Side you are correct in 600ft. I think then traps are limited to 10
C. In the coastal bays of the Atlantic Ocean and their tidal tributaries:
However if in the bay and its rivers then he can do 30 traps and 1200 ft of line.

Whys Jack mad! He could throw out no pots and catch just as many crabs as he would with 300 pots in Virginia.
Or have the crabs finally come back
