Crabbing, enjoying the water, meeting new people, making new friends, that's what it's all about.

I live in Kingston and find the Hudson River to have excellent crabbing.

Like Joe crabs offered the lower west side of NYC or in Long Island City there is a state park at 48th & Centre on the East River that has 4 piers, you can fish or crab from pier #4 and there are even restrooms on site, Gentry State Park I beleave is the name, it faces the UN building in NYC

you can eat 6 a week I beleave, it's down by newark bay that you can't eat them at all, the east river is looking the best I can recall in my lifetime, the water is clean, I saw a big turtle and some crabs in 3ft of water, also saw a big jellyfish and lots of schools of little fish, real encouraging that things are looking up...

So it's safe to eat crabs down there? Hmm... This west side spot - is it a big place to go? I need some ideas since I don't know if I'll be in DC or NY this summer. Hopefully DC - only an hour or so from the Wye.

 laugh Yay!

(Now all I need is a skiff...a small one...)
