Have been tearing them up the last 4 weeks while going shrimping in the Edisto and Beaufort area. We always get about a dozen keepers in the net and always toss a pot on the way out. In about 4-6 hours in last four trips got 26, 31, 36, 29. Had caught some menhaden, greenies, pinfish, and spots, shrimping and used them for bait. Had to add hardware cloth to bait tube to slow them up on the bait. Catching twice that amount but have to cull less than 5". Nice size on them now too. Many you don't have to measure to see if keepers. Have seen several 7"+.

Do you have any idea what the water temps were? What were the dates you went and what area did you do the best? How was the male to female ratio (I'm new and dont know the nicknames for them yet). I'm from TN and our lakes "flip" temperature thermoclines several times a year making bass  fishing success very unpredictable. We just got back from Nags Head, NC. Using NOAA bouy temps I figured the crabbing practically shut down for us po dock hoopers about a week before the trip. i need a boat.....
