We already pay for stuff like this in MD. We have to pay to fish salt, fish fresh, trout stamp, crabbing, launch ramps, you name it. We can buy a boat license which will cover anyone on your boat that is crabbing or fishing.
Are you saying that head boats would be charged per person on every trip, or just pay a flat rate each year based on their capacity?

the way i read it if you can handle 6 people with your captiain license they would charge you for that many for the year. here in nj fresh water is 21.50 so $5 would be a deal

Delaware has been pretty good with the saltwater license issue for residents. Anglers up and downstate are very vocal with their elected officials when it comes to these and other fishing related concerns. You should have seen the response to the turbine proposal for the IR Inlet.  It was a pretty heated debate. Del fees for out-of-staters are pretty low, to say the least, compared to our neighbors, Pa, Md and NJ's, non-resident fees.  Del only recently imposed state ramp fee for non-residents to finally cash in on the number of out-of-staters who flock here during the season. |

The trash dumpsters disappeared from the MD ramps too. Now where am I supposed to dump the bodies of the crewmembers that pissed me off? Oh yeah, thats why I crab by myself |

Some additional info about the proposed license in Del.
Residents will pay $8.50 proposed license fee- this would be for fresh and saltwater fishing, and the fee would apply crabbing and clamming as well. And it would be over and above the tag fee for beach access via four wheel drive vehicles.
Non-residents would pay $ 20 for the fresh/saltwater fishing license, but the customers going out on head boats and charters wouldn't need individual licenses. License fees for charter guides would be set at $ 150 and $ 300 for head boats.

latest that i read on saturday is that the cost will be 12.50 for fresh and salt 20 for out of state hunting license is also going up

i already got my freshwater fishing license for pa, nj and de. i am a delaware resident and we by far are the cheapest for any license. Maryland freshwater non-resident license is weird as they charge you differently depdending on what state you reside.

jersey has 1 set price for non-resident freshwater fishing licenses. the price is $34. |
