Well, I had a great day down in VA Beach today.  After searching for the rockfish for about 5 hours and traveling at least 50 miles, we finally found them.  We came out of Rudee Inlet and hauled [arse] south almost to NC.  Nothing.  Not one fish.  All other boats skunked.

A call came from the north end of the beach.... fish on!  Took a nap on the 25 mile ride up to Cape Henry, and behold.... birds everywhere, waters churning with baitfish and rockfish.

Biggest was just short of 40."  Caught our limit minus one fish, and then fish/released until we nailed the 40 incher.

Rockfishing down there just doesn't get much better, but perhaps it will be on my Jan 13 trip.  Stay tuned! Wink

Weather was actually great... light SW wind that died later, light rain in AM, clouds and overcast in PM... high 50s.

Stoney caught a cold, then decided to catch a nap for the next 13  hours. laugh laugh

WHAT B.O.A.T. WERE YOU ON?Huh?

I go every year with my buddy Capt Pete Ide on the Lisa Ann.  Lisa Ann is a 40' deadrise.  Pete fishes the lower Bay until the MD season runs out, then heads south to VA Beach to catch the monsters.

Just finished  eating the first batch.... man is that some good fish! Wink

The 50+ inchers are out there.  Some hillbillies I fish with from Richmond caught one last year down there..... the week before I went out. Most fish are 30 to 42 inches.

Hey weirdo stalker guys..... 1st pic, summertime, t-shirt.  2nd pic, wintertime, 8 layers of clothes and sweatshirt.

I did gain about 5 pounds from all the $&%# I've been eating over the nondenominational wintertime holidays I've been celebrating.

Thanks for keeping up with my weight, you fags. laugh laugh laugh laugh
