I pulled in to Island Hunting and Fishing, the pink place right on Rte. 50 East and they were loading everything in to trucks.  It looks like they closed for good.  That was my go to spot too.

Yeah, and unless the new CVS sells crabnets and spice, it won't be the same. Angry Cry

Dave,

I posted this about a week ago.  I wentin there on Saturday 1/28/06 to pick up my geese I had picked the prior week and Miss Linda told me they were closing. 1/28/06 was actually their last day of operation.  Lost their lease and they are going to knock down the place and build a CVS drug store.  They are looking for a new place to reopen, but have not found one yet.

Steve and his family had a nice shop with just what you needed and at good prices.  I wish them luck in finding a new site.

Ok, so we have a Rite Aid, Kent Drugs, Safeway Pharmacy and Happy Harry's within a mile of each other.  What the HE11 do we need another drug store for?

What, are we Eastern Shorelanders that unhealthy.  What's wrong with a steady diet of Steamed Crabs, Buttered Sweet Corn and Beer???  I just don't see the problem here.

Nah, it's for all of the retirees transplanted from Baltimore and Washington.

I never thought about it that way, but you've got a good point!  Undecided

He's totally right.  My in-laws (great people) decided to move to the Eastern Shore to retire.  They are on the Western Shore in Chesapeake Beach and they don't want the heat of Florida.  They also don't want to leave their kids and grand kids.

D jr,

No problem here I can see.  I was really sorry to see them close.  I have been goin there since it opened and my brother and I got quite friendly with steve and Ms Linda.  They had the stuff you needed and it was good quality and good priced.
There is that Chesapeake outdoors place a couple of blocks west of IHF
but it isn't that same.  God, I remember the old sportsman service center when roger owned it.  I still have an old Blues Bros T-shirt from there.  It is about a rag, but oh well.  I guess my IHF t shirt with a big blue crab is now a collectors item.
Hopefully they will find a new place to lease and reopen.  If they do reopen make sure to post here... Now that goose and duck is over .. I won't be down the shore
for a while.
