how big do you guys grade your crabs #1s# 2s
The way I grade crabs is as follows: #1s are 6" & up and #2s legal size (5'-51/4" depending on the time of year) to under 6".

Normaly we grade on 5 1/2, but this yr we have been having to grade on a 53/4 wich makes my crabs grade out at half. 5 1/2 it's 3 to 1. I try not to keep anything under 5 1/4, everybody complains about them and that crab will shed again soon and be 6 +

guy # 1 get's paid 100.00 at the begining of the year to around or just after July 4 weekend, then
get's the market from there on out.
guy # 2 this guy gets 65.00 all year per bushel
they both will make the same amount of money if you crab all year.

The guys inn the upper bay, do seem to do a little better $ per bushel than we do, on the shore. More people, more demand I guess
