One rolled under the van while loading and was then flattend upon leaving. I told chris next time by stop in he's got a credit for one.Since it was kind of my roomies fault for rushing him from the lot.

OK...Eel pot's...for catching eel's.  Your Eel Pots are very nice looking, obviously well made, and look like they would last a long time.  Your efforts are to be commended!

This may sound really stupid, but what do people do with Eel's that they catch?

Are they salted for crab bait, or used for a culinary purpose?

I have used salted eel for bait in my distant past, because at that time it was cheap.

I have enjoyed smoked eel at Japanese Sushi restaurants from time to time.

I do remember fishing the Magothy River and Bay areas near the Magothy and cutting the line or leader when one of the slimy devils were hooked.  There was nothing worse than the slime coating the floor of a boat.

What do you guys do with the eels that you catch?  I'm not being sarcastic. or trying to be funny with this inquiry.....just sincerely interested.

Most will catch crab bait...Some will use smaller eels for stiper bait...and even some will eat them...I have done all 3 but as far as smoking goes I cnat keep them lit..really I just havent found a good mix for flavor yet I will keep trying though I tray about 3-4 times a year. I have used them in spagetti sauce in sausage and peppers without the sausage they are good to eat very mild and taste like chicken....lol they are mild enough that they take the flavor of what you cook them in. I reccomend that everyone try them. fried they are great grilled ehhhh stewed great smoked Awsome if you find the right mix..

Happy eelin

I put better pics on the website also

Thanx Geckert for the informative update on what the eels are used for.  If I find a recipe for smoked eel, I'll post it.
