Does anyone know where you can crab with chicken necks from a peir around the Colonial Beach area? I have been threatening for years to find a place and go. My wife and kids hear me tell stories from when I was young. My Grandparents owned a house in the 7th district area of Maryland and our family (mother, father and 5 older sisters) would go down every Sat. and Sunday. Us kids would go out with push nets on low tide and then chicken necks on high tide.  Parents would usually sit back and listen to the race on the radio. Back then, you could be picky on the size. You could pretty much catch a bushel in no time. I just want my kids to feel/enjoy some of what I felt from back then. Then again, they might think it's the biggest waste of time ever. Not to me, though. I could probably sit there for days and have the time of my life. If anyone knows of any peirs in that area and can lead me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks, beforehand!

Just before I went to this web page (blue-crab.org) I e-mailed the CB Chamber and asked the same question regarding pier crabbing. My wife and I are retired and want to visit CB for a little R&R. (Yea, even retired people need R&R occasionally) We don't mind paying a few bucks for pier access but none of my Colonial Beach internet searches were helpful. If I find something I'll pass it on to ya.
