Why is it we always take things to the curb.  Are we all chomping at the bit to crab...?  Not sure how this thread went to pocket pull and cowbells being stuck places.  I always get a good chuckle at least.  CJ  I am just kidding we all know

It is from Sat night live skit .. Will Ferrill played some guy banging on a cowbell spoofing Blue Oyster Cult.. I guess he is a SNL fan.. he made a reference earlier about land sharks too.  ANother SNL skit from the original show. I actually thought Will Ferrill had joined CRAB...!   laugh laugh laugh

Crab shack, you should being working with a company that collect charitable contrabutions.  You know I was a member on this site before people got star ratings it was about seven years ago that I firsted started posting on this site.  I used to correspond with Captain Willie Crab almost daly thru this site,  I never see any of his posts anymore.  ANYWAY, what is the recommended donation to send I definitely would support Steve with his work with this site !    Wink

Have been there the last 5 years with my wife and the squitters are not that bad if you stay in the populated areas.  We rented a house last year down near toms cove and had a great time, we were drinking, eating, playing cards and had a good old time.  I left the screened in porch to the tune of "Where the **ll are you going...shut the door"   Thought they were  kidding and went out throught the grass to take a leak....within moments I disturbed the ones on the grass and my little man and me were consumed by them...no kidding I was shaking them out of my underwear and such an hour later....little man would have swelled huge from the bites except they sucked out all his blood.   If not for the booze I would have passed out...it took me two weeks to recover.  AND...the spray truck had run through not an hour before....Dont think that those t shirts are a joke, they are not.  The mosquitoes will kill you.  Fortunately they were only able to carry my truck...coated in fish bait.... a short distance and I got it back the next morning.

I have now learned what keeps this site running... I love this site...I will donate not the 1 or 25 but at least 100....the wife will understand, she knows how much I have loved crabbing, I was doing it in the mainstream of the chesapeake bay last year (my first year with a boat that could go on the bay) and caught no crabs and broke down twice.  Was smart enough or fortunate enough to know you need another way to get home if something goes wrong.  My little electric motor was up to the job to push my new  1980  16ft boat home  (only 3.5 hours with the tide running my way).  But, I never caught any crabs.  Now I know to go up the rivers and am slowly learning what to do.  In my trips this year I caught the following, 3 crabs the first trip, 8 crabs the second trip, 8 on the next,  35 (yea, buddy !!) the next and this weekend 25 crabs.  I have learned so much from your site, without it I would still be floundering around, (pun intended) .   Next paycheck you will see the funds, but who does it go and how do I send it, I know paypal charges a fee and I will send it direct to reduce costs.  Please let me know.  To anyone out there that is on this site, please do as I am and contribute and post your trips.   Thanks to all.   Russ

I'm not sure if paypal charges my first thought is no. When you hit the donation button it will guide you through the process. The money goes to Steve the operater of the site for the upkeep and running. Donated what you can when you can. I did mine in increments until i hit lifetime status. i will continue from time to time to continue to contribute.
Welcome aboard and I would happy to take you out sometime and we'll try and get you a full bushel. Guys from this board did it for me so I need to pay it forward.
