Well, here I sit in my hotel room in Raleigh, NC. I'm down here for a week long training class for work (taking a Red Hat class).

Raleigh is no where near the water, so I'll be eating my second most favorite food next to crabs... hickory smoked barbecue.

I've got three restaurants all picked out... can't wait to sink my teeth into some pulled pork barbecue and barbecue loin-back ribs. Sadly, I'm 1 1/2 hours from Lexington, NC... the barbecue capital of the world. I'm seriously thinking about making the drive, but class lets out at 5pm and that'd put me in Lexington at 7:30pm. An hour to eat, and that puts me back at my hotel at 10pm... I think that's pushing things.

Anyway, I'll post some barbecue joint reviews here if anyone is interested... it's not crab related.

Always interested in "FOOD" related items.

And theres nothing I know of that will get an argument going quicker that discussing BBQ.

Whether it's the Best place, (Swing Door Saloon, outside of Richmond, Texas or Corky's BBQ in Memphis, To to name just two),

Or the Best style, (Dry Rubbed - Molasses Based - Vinegar Based - etc),

Or the Best type, (Pulled, On the bone, Ribs - Beef - Chicken - etc.)

We can get some conversations going on this topic ---- until the Crabs are bitin' that is .........

Tell ya what Steve, I'm in South Dakota and Nebraska this week. (Can't be any good crustaceans there), I'll try some BBQ my self and we'll compare!!

You said it! To some folks preparing barbecue is a passion and if you don't prepare it their way, dem's fighting words!!  Wink

Fortunately, I like BBQ from all the various regions... but my favorite would be Eastern North Carolina style (I love the vinegar based sauces). Haven't made it to a BBQ joint yet... hopefully tomorrow for lunch.
