Homemade Trotline winder

Does anyone know a cheap way to make a trotline winder. I have heard of several ways, garden hose reels, etc. I just want to get some feedback from everyone to see what has been successful. I want to be able to spool it freeze at then unspool it on the water. Any suggestions?

I've seen a guy on the water down my way use an old electric trolling motor, seen him the last few years with the same setup so it must be holding up ok for him and he's got a long long line...comm guy. He has a pully on the thing instead of a prop and uses a belt to a roller..... My guess is he rolls his lines up and put them in the freezer till next time.

just finished this. is a belt driven 24 volt hose reel made from an old electric scooter and some trial and error. but now it will pull in my 500 foot line in 7 minutes.
