  • Along the four top edges, frame the crabpot using 11-gauge smooth wire by attaching with crabpot staples. Use one long continuous piece to frame the entire pot, bending with pliers in order to make the 90-degree turns.
  • Use 11-guage smooth wire to finish the unfinished edge of the side piece. Simply bend the protruding edges around the wire to create a smooth, clean, finished appearance.

Note: instead of framing the entire top of the crabpot, you can opt to use the smooth wire to finish off just the unfinished edge. This saves on supplies and doesn't really affect the sturdiness of the pot.
