Been having some mighty pitiful reports here so I thought I would try something different this time. With the water I am fishing in being so shallow I opted for setting 10 ( 1/2 pots ) this time. Set out Wednesday afternoon, July 28th and made 5 pulls approx 12 hours apart- the last one this morning July 31st. Ended up catching a total of 118 crabs with 62 keepers. Also caught 3 flounder- 1 was a very nice fish in the 19 inch range- It must have wanted in BAD !  Also caught 18 stone crabs. They will be gone  when the season opens again :(. Heat index yesterday pushing 110 degrees. Stay hydrated and jump in the water !  It helps.

Nice catch glad you are doing well with the half pots, hope you enjoyed the crabs!

Awesome report Sax, those half pots are working. Way to go in figuring that out. Enjoy those crabs.

Many thanks Greg and Greg, I think the full size pots being so close to the surface on low tide or barely exposed could be part of my problem. That and the water filling in like it has and being only 3-4 foot in most places I set.  Also I have found out that smaller fish like spots, croakers, pin fish far better perform for me than Beeliners, Grouper, and Dolphin carcass's  .
