Well they are not all good trips and I believe the bad reports are as beneficial as the good/ great ones are. Its been a slow year crabbing for me and its gotten down right pathetic. Set out 9 pots this time. 3 full sized and 6 1/2 sized ones. Baited with fresh trout scraps, dolphin, grouper, beeliners every 24 hours. I checked 3 times - approx 24 hours apart and caught a total of just 37 crabs with 16 keepers. Pretty bad. I did catch 10 stone crabs- 8 on my first pull but only 2 had a keeper claw and it was just above the min size so I put them back. No flounder this time - did catch around 10 pin fish that went back in as bait. Might be my last crabbing adventure for the year but who knows- I'm hard headed and love it so I may toss a couple more back. Oyster season starts Friday- Oct 15th so will be busy doing that. Stay safe everyone and Good crabbing !

Thanks for the report Sax even if it wasn't a good day. I enjoy reading your post any way. Let us know how you do with the Oysters too. Hopefully next year I will get my boat out and crab the Swansboro area. Anybody with some expertise crabbin in this area please give a holler.

Thanks
Greg

Yes not all trips are great.  Here as well.  Weather here has been the greatest factor.  Not nearly as many and quality has been good but not as great as last year.  You make your plans but they don't always work out the way we want.  Keep on crabbing.

Many thanks- I am unsure if I could post oyster reports on here because its a crabbing site. I plan to do both this coming week after this blow and hopefully will have a report by next weekend. Going to fish as well.
