SHELLFISH

The Crabs have finally arrived in the area! Two weeks ago nothing and then suddenly they appeared!
Today there were 8 crabbers with an assortment of trapping devices including four crabbers with  two ring hoop nets and new to me Promar castable folding net. The Promar castables were outproducing the ring nets! The Crabs were not big; maybe 5-5.5" a very few may have been 6". I did not try crabbing.
Funny thing today was that there were four 12" Loggerhead Sea Turtles cruising the trap line and eating the baits off the nets! :beam:  :happy2:
The crabbers were not happy! :lipsrsealed2:  :furious3:

I stopped again at the same spot today 7-9-2022, There were 7 crabbers and each had a half dozen crabs in their buckets!
Most crabbers here crab off the sea wall. One group had another idea. Maybe they couldn't find a spot off the sea wall?

Looks like they are swimming instead of crabbing.    I hope the crabs are still there in 45 days when I have time to crab.   Thanks for posting!

Here is another shot for you from the same location at low tide.
You can see two lines heading out to ring traps.
I guess she is waiting for the tide to come in but wanted to save her spot!
I don't know why the photo posted sideways! It's fine in my files!

I run into this picture thing on a lot of forums. After adding it to the forum, I do a preview. If it's messed up, I open the pic in an editor and rotate it thru a couple complete cycles, stop it where it's correct and save it, and then upload it to the forum.

SHELLFISH

I tried that and rotated it 90 degrees in my files; reposted but it still was the same!
