I would go with NY or California. But DC/Virginia area is believable too. Tell that William Thomas Lea, or whatever his/her name is, to try and swim against THAT!!!

Hermaphrodidic crabs have been caught before, but that is a fake picture.

Speaking of weird...  I caught this peeler years ago.  When it shed it kept the color (lack of color) pattern.

weird - this video came out with a smaller frozen crab but same features.  The person who made the video sounds like he is from Lousiana, but the poster of the video is a commercial guy from maryland.

I've caught male crabs with red claws before, so that comparison doesn't hold water, but the half-and-half pouch on the bottom does. Can't say I've ever caught one like that, or one with shrimp for claws like Jack's crab had either.
