Hey all, I recently moved to port norris on a little plot of land that backs up to the reeds on dividing creek...is it unlawful for me to blaze a trail through the reeds to get to the creek? I'm only a few minutes from decent crabbing but I'd like to have a little trail for when I get the crabbin itch but don't feel like loading up all my gear in the car  ;)

I don't think it's legal, but

How much does your gear weigh? I've always found that with a little care (and a total disregard for how sapropel-fouled I get :) I can negotiate most reedy marshes without cutting anything down. If you need a cart, that's different, but something light with Wheeleze type wheels might work OK. If it comes to cutting, unless your nearest neighbor is some distance away, I'd avoid a whacker, particularly of the 2-smoke variety. as the noise may attract busybody attention. A machete or small scythe might be your friend, though.

In a marsh, I would think using a flat bottom skid or dragging a youth kayak with gear over the grass might work.
There's no place like roam!
