What a pain it was trying to get my tags for 16 ft boat trailer. bought a 16 ft skiff and trailer way down on the eastern shore of Viginia. boat had title and so did trailer . I took it to mva in dover and had red marker lights would not pass inspection they had to be amber  in color ,dragged it back home and put amber lights on it,took it back to get inspected again could not read some of the numbers of the vin # on the trailer ,would not pass even though I have a title. the trailer is 24 years old so wear and tear wore down some of the vin#  I had to have it gone over by the delaware state police  to make sure it was not stolen ,they checked it out and everything was good and they stamped a new vin# on trailer. Took it back thru inspection they would not pass saying it needed to be certified for its weight.   it cost me $475 to get it certified at blue hen in milford

Shew, and I thought MD was a PIA.   Makes those Maine trailer tags look better all the time.
I love to fish, but I live to crab.

Whew, what a process for a trailer. In the land of the free (Florida), if no previous registration or title all we need is a certified weight. Then we just apply for a homemade trailer registration. Don't even look at it. Guess that's good and bad, but sure is easy.
