I'm not a raving fan of the 1 bushel limit, particularly since the dredge report shows favorable results this year vs. last year when that limit was imposed.

However, I don't understand the big deal about getting the license.

$5 for a resident and $10 for a non-resident. I have a small tin boat with a 15HP 2 stroke and I STILL spend more than that for 1 day of crabbing for gas in the boat and the truck (to get it to and from the ramp). Totally worth getting the license for the full 1 bushel limit but mostly because like FFGomer pointed out, MD only lets you use traps and trotline if you've got the license.

I said it when the 1 bushel limit first came out that such institutions rarely increase a limitation once they've tightened it. I am not surprised to see it continue. I WOULD be surprised if they ever bring it back up to 2 bushels per boat. I just feel glad that I really don't need more than a bushel to make me happy.

All the crybabies in the  Dutch Navy could always suck it up and crab in PA.  ;D
Now the search begins...

This is how it's going to go.  After I kick your A$$ i'm going to run you through the wood chipper and put you in containers in the freezer to use in my crab pots!  The really sad part?  You let an old man kick your A$$!!!
