Set out just 5 pots this time, 3 full sized ( new ) pots and 2 half sized. Made 4 pulls and caught 114 crabs total with 65 keepers. Caught 7-8 stone crabs, all small, 2 small flounder, several pinfish and 5 blowfish. if you want to catch a pot full of blowfish, bait the pots with shrimp heads. They are showing up good and with the cooling water- will be thick very soon. I normally don't use shrimp heads because the blowfish eat the crabs up but I thought I'd give 1 pot a shot. hope you ALL have a GREAT Fall fishing/ crabbing season !

Over a week ago I gave it a try up New River with 12 topless traps ... A tad slow for me ,pulled up 18 fair crabs in 6 hrs.
Seems like the Pin fish are everywhere,, small baits didn't last very long..  Too bad I cant try my trot line , but then it would be a wast of time if the baits only lasted an hour or so...

BTW. I hear that the state will soon allow drag nets in the river to scrape the bottom for crabs in the fall !
