Couple weeks ago I was fishing for perch to freeze and use for crab bait next year.  It was one of those days that perch just didn't wanna bite. I did get over a dozen bluegill various sizes, most under 5".  I've never tried using bluegill for crab bait but I'll give em a try next year. But I did get one 9" bluegill. I been catching them since I was little guy close to 70 years ago and don't remember ever catching one that big before.  What's the biggest bluegill you've ever caught?
I love to fish, but I live to crab.

Bluegills are the best in the Hudson River. People have used chicken and bunker right next to me, I would be tearing the crabs up and they would be doing so so. Kind of weird because I went to Maryland and caught 5 keepers over the weekend. Didn't know Maryland crabbers always use chicken. :) :)
