Finally finished the crab shack and started moving in. I went to the Centerville office of MD DNR to get the boat registered in MD and I can't say enough about the courteous helpful folks staffing that office. Very knowledgeable and and helpful.

So here's the question:

If I purchase a bay sport fishing license for the boat I receive a "complimentary" crabbing license. The complimentary crabbing license allows me to crab 1200' of trotline and 30 collapsible traps, essentially the same metrics as if I were to purchase a boat crabbing license. If I have interpreted correctly, all I need to purchase is the bay sport fishing license to crab the same gear as if I had a boat crabbing license. Is this correct?
It only cost twice as much to go 1st class.

That's correct. The complimentary crab license is strictly for the owner who purchased the boat license. It's the same as if you purchased a recreational crab license for yourself. It doesn't cover any other people crabbing on your boat.

As long as one person (you) on the boat has a crab license NO-ONE ELSE, no matter what state or country they live in, needs a license to crab with you on your boat.  ONE LICENSE IS ALL YOU NEED. Everyone else is "assisting" you.
Only difference with boat crab license is they could crab without you on your boat.
I love to fish, but I live to crab.
