Looks like "option 2" was adopted. Bushel or 6 dozen if no bushel.

If we are going to be limited to one bushel for part (or all) of this season, I like having the option to stack that bushel.

You all will be in for a rude awakening as on the news they said the DNR will be checking big time this year for licensing and equipment and proper paperwork. If the refs want to quick catch their crabs just follow the DNR boats till they dump that second bushel then put your traps out down tide   things might change after  June 30rd

LOL. My daughter and I once did this at a bass fishing tournament. We had come in to casually fish not knowing there was a competition going on there, so we started watching the guys coming in for weigh in. They were right by the dock and after each weigh in they'd dump the fish back in the water right by the weigh station. My kiddo said "well I guess that's one spot where we know there are some fish."

So we proceeded to just set up on the dock nearest to where they were weighing and releasing. We still didn't catch a darn thing! I suspect because those fish were all stressed out and just wanted to boogie to anywhere else, but the tourney guys all thought it was hilarious. We kept getting thumbs up, smiles, waves, and a few guys came over to chat (and give us more practical fishing tips)

Oh, it should be obvious: I'm not very good at fishing! I'm a fair crabber but a very lackluster fisherman. Fishing is just an excuse to relax somewhere near the water.

"but the intention of the Department is to return to the historical catch limit when the population and management allows."

Doubt that's going to happen.  In the 60s used to pull out 13 - 15 bushel a day from Greenwood Creek on 2'000 spool of #2 cotton using eel.  Dem days long gone!

Not to mention the 4 - 5 dozen soft crabs my mother and aunt would catch in roller nets right in front of our place.
This is how it's going to go.  After I kick your A$$ i'm going to run you through the wood chipper and put you in containers in the freezer to use in my crab pots!  The really sad part?  You let an old man kick your A$$!!!

Pull the legs and backfins off and you can get several more in the basket.  ;D

Ok here is a scenario.  I have my children on board and they each have a license.  On board I also have 3 kayaks.  So in essence there is 4 vessels and 4 licensees.  As long as each bushel is on each vessel even though the kayaks are in tow, recreationally we can have 4 bushels total.  ;D

What say you.
