I've used razor clams for the most part but am curious if anyone has tried shrimp heads on a trot line.
I'm gonna crab the Wye for sure

Try them in the bags you may be on to something.  Commercial use them in pots.  Not sure where to get them or price

Don't do it.  Doesn't work.

They use shrimp heads in the upper bay.  I experimented with them in Clam bags on the Sassafras last year.  People complain that they stink and are cut hazards.  I can live with that if they caught crabs.  Had 50 shrimp bags on a 1200 ft line and didn't catch a single crab on shrimp the whole day.  I used them freshly thawed.  I heard that they might leave the shrimp out of the freezer to ripen for a day or two but didn't try that and I'm done with my experiment.

Crab potters leave them out for a couple days, the worse they are the better.  Went out with a buddy once, had a big cooler full of them, but it was just for storage, no ice, they were warm.  We set the fresh boxes on the boat and at the end of the day, dumped them in the cooler.

And they will poke you, you gotta be careful.
