Change of my usual bridge spots today, rented a boat while on vacation because crabbing was the only way to get me down the actual shore lol. Hit the water at 7 am the earliest the rental was allowed and had an off and on day catching a few crabs at each spot but each one quickly dying out after. Crabs enjoyed all three baits we had at different times today which were bunker, chicken backs, and squid. Finally came back to the rental place at around 1 with a nice basket of 32(ish) crabs. I was surprised at the size of the crabs, usually never see crabs this big in July up at Turkey point or Haleysville, was also surprised at the amount of sponges, gonna be a lot of babies down in wildwood in fall. Not a bad way to spend a vacation day.

Paposse i loved wildwood as a kid.I would go down to Wildwood crest and my dad would drop me off before the Cape May bridge by the coast Guard station.i believe that was Diamond beach.Strong current would go thru there. we  always caught some there and croakers as well when we fished. Hey crabbing on vacation a getting 3 dozen is always a win.Whoever is reading this post, one year my nephew ,brother-in-law and i went and found a Marinaon a route going toward middle twsp. The guy stopped renting boats because of high insurance, But the one year he did rent we were on the Dias creek or river notsure but one of the best 4 hr trips with over a bushel and every crabwas either #1 or jst under. He told us when we went out we did not need a full day.Half a day was plenty and he was right.I was wondering if anyone crabs the dias creek on this site and how it is today? Thanks

That's a great way to spend a vacation day. Back early, no long drive home, crab feast down at the shore, priceless. I would suggest a couple of ice cold beverages to top it off. Enjoy, and that's for the report.

Love wildwood! Funny thing is my church is down there and every time I take my turn I see people fishing and crabbing. Here Iam in my Sundays best dying to be out with them. Can't wait to get out on the water hopefully it'll be in a weekend or 2.
