Fellow Crabbers: Got to landing 5:15. Got the last open trailer slot. Took my granddaughter, who just graduated from HS. Our first time out in 4 years. Just great crabbing conditions. Water like glass, no wind and hot and humid. My no.1 open and started running my 700 ft trot line baited with chicken necks at 5:45. We took turns dipping and we both got a lot of that. Just tons of small crabs to include numerous immature females. We did get one doubler.
Good news: We got solid 2/3 bushel but did not see one mumbo(dang). That was what I wanted her to see and dip, a Wye monster.
But despite that we had a great time on the water and now have a nice memory of time well spent together. After the next shed, I'm sure the big guys will be there.

PS: Our baits were totally hammered. Been crabbing long time but have never seen chicken necks demolished like they were yesterday. Bring extra baits!

Be safe out there.

Glad you and your granddaughter shared a good experience and got some nice looking crabs. Sometimes it is not just the size, but how full they are.  I have thrown back many 7 and 8 inch crabs that were light and kept many 5.5 to 6 inch crabs that were heavy. I hope the ones you have there are good quality and packed full. The ones she helped you catch will always be the best tasting crabs in her memory.
There's no place like roam!

Nice catch Howard, Enjoy!
Since someone ate crabs, others must have eaten spiders as well.  However, they were not tasty.
So afterwards, people stopped eating them.   These people deserve our heartfelt gratitude  :)
