crabbin paisano

yesterday we went to Bobs Bay Marina to crab with my 2 sons ,my nephew and their friends.3 of them have never been crabbing. We got out at 7 ;30am. they open at 8 but i asked the lady if she could open a little earlier to catch the top of high tide then outgoing. they were very nice and they were there by 7.We used about 6 handlines and 2 traps per boat with chicken thighs. I took 2 newbies and my oldest son Nico to his friend on the other boat. We were back at the dock at 1:00 sharp.we thru back about 2 dozen 4.5 to 5 inchers.i have not seen so many 6.5 to 8 inch.crabs in a while. They were very excited and want to go again. That is all you can ask for to teach the young generation how we have been doing it for years.final total 118 crabs all cleaned at their cleaning station.Very clean and with plastic bags to boot. The best part of the day was the cost $95 a boat all day.new motors no big crowds. All these other rental places from the navesink to new gretna all wanted $150 to over $200 for the half or full day.Highly recomend Gloria at Bobs, she just sold the marina after many years with her husband, hopefully the new owners will run things the same way.

Wow Great job. Looks like if I want to catch crabs I am going to have to burn some fuel. So far it has been a slooooooow year in SJ. Enjoy the crabs and the day with family.
