Any thoughts on deterring these rats with wings? The pier pilings have the pointed caps on them but these unwelcome guests just roost on the pier making a mess. Any thoughts / experiences on keeping them away would be appreciated.
It only cost twice as much to go 1st class.

Stretch rope between the pilings.

If you have a way, take fishing line and run it from end to end, birds will not go around it.  Or take a 10' 2x4 and lag one to each side of the pier, beginning and end and run fishing line up high if you don't want it around piling height.
