Sorry for the late post,
8-22  Ran 16 traps with CN along a shoreline that dropped from 3 to 16 feet. Incoming tide with a west breeze. Traps were easy to run but results were very slow, fished most of the incoming and quit around 5pm. Lot of undersized crabs but no females all day, was totally surprised. Ended the day with a bakers dozen which was enough for me and my wife. She runs the boat and does a better job than me for pulling traps.

8-24 Surprise visit by my son, D-I-L and granddaughter and they wanted to go crabbing. I had heard some positive reports from Colbourn Cr but was afraid that parking lot would be full so went back to my VA spot. Same set-up, same tide and we caught just short of 3 doz. All nice and heavy. A lot of just short crabs and a bunch of females, both sooks and sallies which I took as a good sign. Granddaughter had a blast. It was good family fun and we had enough for a traditional steamed crab dinner.  It was the kind of day that keeps me going back.

Good job. I think you just caught every remaining crab in Virginia. Which is pretty good, since there are NO crabs in Virginia!!!
