Went crabbing in the West River yesterday and saw a big change from more males to more females than 2 wks ago. Last week we had an equal # of males to females, this week it had to be 8 to 1 females to males. Do males migrate out to the bay before females or have we just caught most of the males by this time in the season? Can't remember this happening last year at this time.

In the early part of the summer the males and females hang out, party and fornicate. The males realize something is going on with the females and begin to distance themselves from the females. Time passes and the females show signs of being pregnant, some even already produced little Jimmies and Sallys. The males put even more distance between the two by going up the Bay, rivers, creeks and even sandbars. This angers the females to no end, the females go out seeking food, shelter and support from their baby daddies. But it is to late, Ole Jimmy Mumbo has moved on in search of a new Sally to start over with.

Yes, this is much more simple.

There's always a female run for a couple of weeks this time of the year. I think the most likely explanation is that the females are starting to migrate toward the ocean so they can spawn. They're coming from wherever they happen to be and trying to fatten up for the trip down the Bay before they bury for the Winter.

Nope, just trying to be funny. You could be a little nicer, I don't come down to the truck stop and slap the d*ck out of your mouth while your having fun.  >:(

As was I. If you are trying to be a funny guy, then try to recognize when someone else is as well.
