Can you fit all of your gear to crab on a Kayak?  How shallow can you go with a kayak?  I have been google mapping Steelman Bay by Somers Point, I would love to try a jetski to crab from,  but it looks too shallow.  So I am back to a kayak.  Someone posted free boat launches and I see one very close to it.  Has anyone ever crabbed here?  Am I wasting my time?
thanks in advance

There is an entire section on kayak crabbing on the forum. We use handlines, ring traps, box traps, topless traps and trotlines.

Adam and I had days where we launched a 4 am under headlamps, each caught a bushel of crabs then stowed them in the trucks. Then we would launch to another area to fish and come back in under headlamps.

8-12 hour days were common for us, but we had several that were longer.
