I sold my boat after having a boat for over 30 years. I've been wanting to try to crab from my kayak, so i bought 10 cheap ring traps. I baited my traps before i left the house. Strapped the traps across the front. Basket was in innertubes high enough so it didn't touch the water so I could pull it along or sit on back of the kayak. I also had a line tied to it with an anchor in case I just wanted to leave it somewhere near the traps. 2 gallon bucket between my legs to dump the crabs in. Crabbed cox creek/Dundee. Caught 6 nice crabs, one of them 8". was on the water for 4 1/2 hours. Not a good catch rate, but I enjoyed being on the water, not having to gas up the boat and load and unload the boat. I caught enough for dinner.

Everyone has to start somewhere. You got out there and made it happen. You were able to bring something home to show for your efforts. Each trip you will learn something new and you will get better, just stay with it. There are plenty of us kayak crabbers on here who are willing to help if you reach out to us.  Don't give up!
There's no place like roam!
