Made one last run close to home on Friday afternoon on the incoming tide.  I had heard quite a few real good reports from the previous week, but I was worried we were too late.  Talked to a few boats at the ramp that had at least a half basket.  We set in 8-10 ft of water with 27-30 traps (had some issues with a few and had to do on boat repairs a couple of times).  Surface temp was about 65 degrees.  Was mostly slow, but we did have one or two really good runs.  We crabbed about 2 hours and called it a day with 30 crabs when the wind started to pick up.  Some really good size crabs.  None were overly heavy, but they were not light either.  I'll take it as a good end to my season.

Gotta love October Crabbing. Best time of the year for many of us. Thanks for the report.
