No fog this week which I was happy about. My son brought along a friend of his from school who had only crabbed a couple times with traps and never even heard of a trotline before. I was excited to show here what we do. I arrived in the creek I've been working for weeks and the very nice commercial guy was there again. I threw a friendly wave at him and scouted for a spot. It looked like I could lay similar to last week, which is what I was hoping for. I looked up and the comm was coming my way, obviously wanted to talk. He mentioned he had 2 lines (I didn't see the second) and when I realized I thanked him for showing me, chatted for a bit about how his week was and where they were moving. I decided to go slightly deeper thinking they are moving with cooler water. Well, I think that might have been a mistake, but it's water under the bridge at this point.

Laid the line and started running and it was obviously not as good as previous week. We are getting some crabs, but much slower. We discussed moving, but by the time we thought about it, it would have wasted most of the rest of our day. So we kept grinding, and surprisingly it picked up a bit the last hour. Still not enough to limit out, but we got plenty to eat and was able to put up another pound of meat.

Our guest had a great time. I did my best to teach her all I could about the process, about crabs, life cycle, testing for lights, etc. I love teaching people new things, so it was a great time all around. She only missed a couple crabs when she took her turn on the net, not bad for a newbie. Oh, and you can see in the picture I wore them both out. lol.

Last picture is this years shirts my wife made for my son and I. She makes something for us every year, and she likes to have a little fun with it, we love them.

Big Liar

Jimmys are starting to show up at the mouth, but the sooks are still there as well.  The sooks should be heading out this week.  Catching more jimmys in 20'.  The wind definitely picked up at 1:00.
Just one of the few bad apples that keeps wizzing in the MSSA's and TF's milk.  Not because I have violations (because I don't'), but because I'm catching the resources that they claim to own and have more rights to.

I won't be able to go for the next 2 weeks due to some family events going on. I will be back the first Sunday in November and I will be going deep. I'm set up to go to 25' or more if necessary. My best day ever on that river was November 2020, so I'm hoping I can still pick some up then. That trip I was running 16'-20'' and absolutely obliterated them.
