Fellow crabbers: I finally made it out to Hunting Creek (first time since last year). Only 2 trailers in lot and pretty chilly but for the Miles, water was very flat. Laid my trot line, baited with Chicken necks right down the center of Hunting Creek. First run was promising catching 5 but all right around 6".  I averaged like 2-3 a run but only one big guy. Several sooks, lots of juveniles, and unfortunately quite a few drops because the sun was so brilliant and glare scared em off.
I had just over 1/2 bushel, and on my last run with about 5/6 baits left I caught a monster. Just one beautiful crab.

Probably my last trip in 24(?)

Be safe out there.

Thanks for the report, did you get a measurement of that big guy?
There's no place like roam!

Nice catch!   Were goin one more time this year,, hope to catch a few!   Have a nice winter break !!
Since someone ate crabs, others must have eaten spiders as well.  However, they were not tasty.
So afterwards, people stopped eating them.   These people deserve our heartfelt gratitude  :)

Wallco:

That big crab was just under 8".

That is awesome. Claw was probably 3" or more around. It's a great feeling when you pull those kind up. Beautiful crab.
