24 traps in the water around 11:30 just at the very end of the incoming tide.  Tried the upper Tred Avon to get out out the wind, and set the traps in 12-17' of water.  Little slow in the beginning with lots of 5-5.25" released, often 2 in a trap.  About an hour after the tide shift started catching some nicer sized crabs.  Ended up with 28 quitting around 2:30.  Surprised not to see any really big fall crabs, but had some nice ones for a good dinner.  Also surprised at how many crabs in the 5" size that were caught.  Water temp was 59. Did not see anyone else out the whole day.

Wahoo

28 fall crabs is a big win in my book!  Nice catch.
Since someone ate crabs, others must have eaten spiders as well.  However, they were not tasty.
So afterwards, people stopped eating them.   These people deserve our heartfelt gratitude  :)

It only cost twice as much to go 1st class.

Thanks spent all last winter working on it, 20' Outrage with a new Suzuki 200.  Idles perfectly when running a trot and the low sides are a plus, and plenty of space for 30 traps when I go that route.

Big Liar

That means there will be big crabs there in May.  I think a lot of the bigger crabs already migrated out into the Choptank.  We used to catch quite a few of them around #10 when we would start netting for perch in December in previous years.
Just one of the few bad apples that keeps wizzing in the MSSA's and TF's milk.  Not because I have violations (because I don't'), but because I'm catching the resources that they claim to own and have more rights to.
