Heard the crabs were bedded down for the Winter but I'm hard headed and I have caught crabs in January before so I went ahead and set out just 3 pots without much hope
I used the mullet scraps I had caught around Thanksgiving as bait. Set out 3 full sized pots and checked twice and removed. Total crabs were 40 with 27 keepers. Don't believe everything ya hear! You may just miss out. I want to wish ALL of the readers here a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy and Healthy 2025. Lets see if we can get a few of you to actually post a report this year. Was out this week mainly getting oysters for some folks so I included a pic. Ended up with 7 1/2 bushels.

A couple of big boys in there.

Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2025.

You never know until you go. Way to get out there and give it another try. I usually crab into November here in Maryland. But I am in a kayak, so there are a lot of safety constraints for me.

I will be out in my kayak again in April ( God willing) looking for them again.

Best wishes for a great 2025 season!

I mainly use a kayak as well Logical. I will wade some out on occasions, but the kayak sure helps and is faster. Not fun in the wind though.

Kayak crabbing is not for everyone and I can appreciate that.  The guy who taught me (arti0972) loved crabbing from a kayak. His detailed reports are a big part of how I got into the sport.
